Tap was born in Carlisle, PA in 1955 and received the Lord in 1972 at age 17. Denise was born in Kankakee, IL in 1954 and received the Lord when she was 11 years old. Tap graduated from Penn State and found work in SC at a Christian children's home where he met Denise Corriveau (BJU grad '72) and we were married in June 1978.

Tap started seminary at Bob Jones University  (1981-87) and then moved with his family to south Texas in 1993 to begin one year of language study in preparation to plant Baptist churches in Sinaloa, Mexico.

Tap founded Iglesia Bautista Betel in Alhuey, Sinaloa and served there from 1997 to 2018. Tap served as intern pastor of Iglesia Bautista Horeb in Navolato, Sinaloa from 2017 to 2022. The church in Navolato accepted Octavio Davalos as their new pastor in November 2022.

Tap and Denise currently help their son Brian in Alhuey serving as Pastor Emeritus. Tap also is developing an on-line ministry via the internet to plant churches in South Asia (India, Pakistán, and Nepal) mentoring faithful national pastors in their church planting efforts.

We have been in Mexico since 1996 serving under MGM International​. We have 3 sons and 11 grandchildren.
